Job Description:

We are looking to hire a reliable Full Time Lead Laborer for an opportunity on our Second Shift (3pm-11pm).

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Provides work supervision or group(s) of laborers. In the absence of Assistant Production supervisor assumes general oversight of laborer to include time and attendance monitoring/record keeping

Completes all duties as assigned by Assistant Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Managerial (Responsible for the following duties in absence of the Assistant Production Supervisor)

  • Supervises Laborers
  • On a daily basis records time and attendance ensuring that such is accurate and complete
  • Orients laborers to work situations and trains such individuals in the performance of specified work tasks
  • Assists in providing direction to Laborers
  • Constantly maintains high professional standards at work with regard to personal behavior and interactions with other staff, individuals, and outside agencies
  • Provides input on laborers’ performance levels/appraisals

Production Responsibilities

  • Light assembly including assembly of boxes
  • Operation on conveyor belts and sealing machines
  • Packaging
  • Monitors quality and precision of work produced to ensure conformance with job specifications
  • Adapts work methods to meet customer’s needs
  • Assists in setting up specific job tasks and work areas
  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; restocking as needed
  • Consistently complies with all Agency policies and procedures
  • Constantly maintains high performance standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Moderate level of written and oral communication skills
  • Moderate level of interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of computer and ability to utilize word processing programs
  • Successful completion and certification of First Aid and CPR, provided upon hire

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalency with one year experience in production or manufacturing and/or work with the developmentally disabled population

Minimum: Valid New York State driver’s license in good standing, New York automobile insurance, and a reliable motor vehicle required.
